Hi. I'm Mike MacEacheran, a travel journalist, feature writer and editor.

This website is a one stop shop introducing the who, what, why, where and how of my life. I love being a journalist and I am eager to engage as many readers as possible.

I am always open to freelance assignments and commissions no matter how big or small - so please do get in touch. I'm ready for the next adventure - are you?

Quick facts about me...

I have hang-glided in New Zealand, I have trekked to Everest and I have flown across Peru's Nazca Lines in a tinpot biplane. I am terrified of heights.

I have sailed down the Mekong on a barge, I have sailed a dug -out tree branch on Lake Malawi and I have cave dived in Honduras. I am a terrible swimmer.

I have been chased by a troop of monkeys, I have put my hand inside the mouth of an angry African leopard and I have caught a piranha whilst fishing in the Amazon basin. I still love animals.

I have driven a Harley Davidson across Egypt, I have off-roaded the world's largest sand island in Australia and I have driven a 4x4 across Bolivia's Salar de Uyuni. I failed my very first driving test for driving too slowly.

Pleased to meet you.
